Here is a simple rule I've learned in organizing, KEEP IT TOGETHER. Keep like objects in the same place neatly stored. I am completely guilty of having scissors in 10 different places in my house and I can never find any of them, so I buy more! I have started using this KEEP IT TOGETHER rule and it's revolutionizing my spaces. Here we created a place for all of our cords. One is for our apple devices and the other is for our extension cords. The extension cord bin is in the garage and the apple cords are in the media room. Now when I find a random charger it gets wrapped up and put in this bin. If we need an extension cord we know where to find it. You will find as you begin to implement this strategy you will discover you have more than you thought. I have learned I may never need to buy tape again! Happy organizing!
"Mom, I can't find my charger!" This solves the problem.
