Books - First Lie Wins & Coyote Sunrise

Have you read First Lie Wins? I loved it! It's a thriller that keeps you guessing. There are lots of twists and it's not too graphic, I like that. It was great! Coyote Sunrise was a well told story. It's written for elementary aged kids. It's a good story, but honestly there are a bunch of touching hard stories in it, which is great, but I like to read to escape... so it was too slow and sad for me... I'm not saying it's not good, because it is... it's just not my jam.  I keep track of all the books I read on Goodreads! I give stars out... I'm Jen Severn on Goodreads! Hope to see you there!

Book Club with Jen Severn Page Turners

Page Turners! Welcome to Book Club with Jen Severn  I have just finished a class on Shadow Work. My first book of the year was a manual! I continue to pursue my internal work on emotional intelligence and how I show up in this world. I am working to understand my actions and reactions to simple encounters in my life and that perhaps they have deep roots. It's a work of love. I do believe as I become more aware, I am more equip to be present for my husband, children and friends. This is hard work and deep work of the heart, mind, soul and strength. It's not a journey for everyone, yet I feel so grateful to be involved in this work. I have experienced great healing from Shadow Work. I consider it a hammer. Not the only tool on my belt, but a useful one indeed. It's making me a better mom. No doubt. I must be willing to engage in working on me in order to show up the way I'd like to in this world. It's an unending work, rewarding and great! This book took me...
