Today I am dreaming of fall. I can't wait for the leaves to turn
bright oranges and yellows. I don't think I will get to the northeast this
fall. It will remain on my bucket list for 2016. I took this picture a few
years ago and I am longing to sit on this hill again enjoying apple cider and
laughter with our dear northeastern friends.
This breathtaking quintessential New England picture was taken on
Mount Sugarloaf and overlooks the Connecticut River. There was a fall breeze
blowing through our hair and it was damp but not raining. It was chilly enough
that we didn't want to stay long, but it was so beautiful we wanted to stay all
day. The kids were running around laughing and tossing a football while we
soaked in scene. I love New England in the fall. It seems every few miles there
is an apple orchard selling fresh cider and acres of apple orchards with every
kind of apple. You can get a wagon and a bucket and walk through the uneven
fields until your heart is content trying all the different flavors of apples.
This picture warms my heart and makes me want to find a weekend to go out east
not just for the beautiful colors and apple orchards but also for the friends
who call the northeast home. I am ready for fall foliage and temperatures.
Though I don't want to wish away the days. Dreaming of October.
