Charmed...
My friend Kristina just did a post like this and it made me laugh. I thought I would jump on the band wagon. Keeping it real about this charmed life:) Just so you know I am a real mom with real mom stuff. I thought I would let you in on a few of my day to day disasters that happened THIS WEEK:)
* Aim is an issue in our main bathroom for our kids, so there is always a nice mess at the base of the toilet. I am constantly trying to get it clean. Today, I forgot and my shoes stuck to the floor. EWW.
* I made dinner and came home hungry after running the carpool only to find out I didn't make enough... grumpy.
* My kids kindly helped me carry in the groceries and put them away. While helping, they knocked over a full glass of water onto a pile of papers, stuck a their thumb into an apple sauce that then squirted onto the floor, kitchen table and the chairs, and they found a spot under a Tupperware where some mold had grown, gross. Glad they found it. However, really, did we have to discover it then? (it took a very long time to unload the groceries.)
* Sent my daughter to school with a lunch, but no 'main dish' on a field trip day.
* My daughter just reminded me that we still have not brought in her birthday treats. (Her Birthday was over winter break.)
* Our hot water heater went out.
* Both my kids skipped practicing spelling words this week.
* My granite tile counter tops are literally FALLING off one tile at a time.
* My car is disgusting and I refuse to go vacuum it until I know I won't FREEZE or be BLOWN AWAY by our crazy weather. One of my kids ate dinner in the car the other night and there are still noodles stuck to the seat and chocolate milk splatters on the seat-back.
* Sometimes I am so tired at night I floss my teeth in bed. HA. So gross!
* I do the P90X workout videos at 5 am in my pj pants. By the time I am finished I have them rolled up 8 times until they are above my knees. No hot work out skirts for me. LOL. Can't go to the gym like that.
* I would love to eat breakfast before I take my kids to school, but can never seem to make enough time.
* I can't function w/o 1 cup of coffee a day.
* I ate several chocolate covered potato chip today. Ah, where did that come from?
All that being said, when I am frustrated, forgetful, disgusted, mean and just tired I have to remember how blessed I am to have 3 wonderful kids, a great husband and a gracious God. My girlfriend's nephew died this week at a sweet young age of 5. Perspective. Thanking God. Daily Disasters are a part of having kids. Embracing it.
Nice:)
