Our Current Adventure : Parenting a Middle School Kid : Wild Roller Coaster
Parenting a middle school kid is tough and wonderful. It's amazing seeing the person they are becoming. They are beyond sweet, wild, sassy, engaging, delightful and dreary and all these things can change from minute to minute. This morning, instead of getting out of bed right away, Scott and I took a minute to pray. YES, we pray for our parenting (which we don't do enough). We are walking a path of uncharted territory for our family. I came across a great article in the Huffington Post today on middle school kids. It has a lot of wisdom for us and I think it will make our middle school kid feel 'normal'.
I will often need to be reminded of these things.
I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving! Today I am thankful I have a middle school aged kid who is not boring, is wild and wonderful, completely challenging and is wrapped in our LOVE; which is why we pray.
The never-ending, never-giving up love and grace God has for all of us, drives Scott and I to extend, beyond ourselves, the lavish love God is, for all kids (middle school kids too!). These pictures sum it up! Buckle up, get your hands up and lets go! God's love and grace is wild and free, perfect for a wild ride.
