Just What I Needed

The Jesus Calling is one of my favorite devotionals.  It spoke to my heart this week... maybe it will to yours too.   It's spring and I long for clean, de-clutter, new starts and change.  The Counting Crows, "It's been a long cold winter..." plays in my mind.  What does this year hold?  Where will we go and what will we do?  How will this year bring new?  I want to see the big picture, but I can only see today right now.  As I contemplate how or what I could do next, I can get anxious and rushed to create new.  This, January 27th Jesus Calling Devotional, is just what I needed to hear, because when I am rushed, I don't enjoy the journey.  I was reminded I can rest and relax and enjoy the ride, because I can trust God.  He's got me on his GPS and when I get off course, he can bark at me and redirect me.  He is my shepherd, I know His voice, when I stray, which I will, He will call me back and lead me.  I long to walk in His way.  I don't want to go unless HE is there.  I want His way.....

TRUST IS A GOLDEN PATHWAY TO HEAVEN. When you walk on this path, you live above your circumstances. My glorious Light shines more brightly on those who follow this path of Life. Dare to walk on the high road with Me, for it is the most direct route to Heaven. The low road is circuitous: twisting and turning in agonizing knots. There the air hangs heavy, and dark, ominous clouds predominate. Relying on your own understanding will weigh you down. Trust in Me absolutely, and I will make your path straight.
